Ballard

Ballard offers a mix of waterfront charm, bustling nightlife, and laid-back community vibes.
It also has one of the best Farmers Markets

What’s Unique?

If you want a neighborhood that mixes beach days, breweries, and buzzing nightlife, Ballard’s got you covered. Craft beer and live music are everywhere, and the food scene is packed with spots locals actually rave about. Ballard Avenue is the neighborhood’s heartbeat — lined with boutique shops, cozy coffee stops, and the weekend farmers market that always draws a crowd. Just down the road, the Ballard Locks bring together locals and visitors to watch boats pass through and salmon climb the fish ladder — a classic Seattle experience. Golden Gardens gives you sandy beach hangs and killer sunsets, while the quieter streets keep it feeling homey. It’s the perfect mix of trendy, laid-back, and unmistakably Seattle.

Outdoors in Ballard

Because lifestyle is about more than homes, we spotlight the outdoor spaces locals love

Walking Spot

Burke-Gilman Trail

The Burke-Gilman Trail runs right through Ballard, giving you an easy, scenic path along the Ship Canal. It’s a local favorite for walking, biking, and people-watching — perfect for a casual stroll or a weekend workout.

Social Hang

Golden Gardens Park

Golden Gardens is Ballard’s go-to hangout spot. Think sandy beach days, epic sunsets, and big grassy lawns where people gather for picnics, bonfires, or just to chill with friends. It’s one of the most social parks in Seattle — and always buzzing when the sun’s out.

Dog Park

Dog Yard Bar

Ballard has its own dog-friendly bar — seriously. Dog Yard Bar is an off-leash, fenced turf park where pups can play while their humans grab a drink and socialize. It’s part hangout, part dog park, and totally Ballard.

Coffee Shop

Homage Coffee is equal parts café and creative studio — think smooth pour-overs, fresh pastries, and shelves of handmade ceramics that make the space feel as cool as it is cozy. It’s one of Ballard’s trendiest hangouts, perfect for a caffeine fix and a little inspiration.

Bulk Refill (Unique Grocery)

Mimi’s Zero Waste Market is Ballard’s go-to spot for refillable, plastic-free shopping — bring your own jars and fill up on bulk grains, spices, home care staples, and more. It’s a place where sustainability feels creative, not restrictive, and every visit is its own small revolution.

Restaurant

San Fermo is tucked inside a little old house on Ballard Ave, standing out from the city around it with its rustic charm. Inside, it’s all cozy lighting and chic Italian style — giving you “grandma’s house” vibes but in a totally elevated, date-night way. It’s the perfect spot for celebrating a special occasion or just enjoying a really nice evening out.

Restaurant

This is the spot for cozy comfort — steaming bowls of congee, tasty sides, and flavors that feel like a warm hug. Tucked away from the main drag, it’s a low-key Ballard gem where everything feels personal, flavorful, and down-to-earth — the perfect match for a classic Seattle grey day.

Known for its stacked sandwiches and laid-back vibe, this spot brings bold flavors and plenty of character. The Rajun Cajun, their best-seller, is spicy, satisfying, and basically a must-try if you want to know what all the hype is about. Casual and full of local flavor, it’s a true Ballard favorite.
